Well, it's getting there. And now I'm going to catch up everyone on the happenings of my life the past couple months.
Well, I was the JNN platoon leader. That was a lot of fun. I had a GREAT group of Soldiers, that I now care deeply about. But, there comes a time in every officer's career where they get promoted. And I did. To Captain!! June 1, 2010 I became a Captain in the Army. Shoot. They'll give it to ANYONE! Just kidding. After being promoted, I was told that I was moving to work on Battalion staff. And here I am. Working as the Assistant Operations Officer (A/S3). It's not a bad gig--it keeps me busy!
School. Let's talk about school. I'm keeing a solid 4.0 so far... I have completed 15 credits so far towards my MBA. I'm currently taking two classes (6 credits)... and I'm taking 12 (yes.. 12) credits this fall. Whew. It's going to be so busy. But I like it. I am studying with an emphasis on leadership and I've learned a lot. I definitely think that I am a servant leader (or maybe transformational?) and I'm trying to use that to my advantage.
Also, we have the ball coming up. I'm excited, but I'm also nervous. I'm the OIC for the ball, and I don't want it to be an epic fail. AND I get to wear a dress. So.. that's pretty awesome.
What else... Oh, I've started eating reallllly well. Meaning, like, only one processed food per meal... which usually is brown rice. Lots of veggies and fruits. I don't even use salad dressing anymore! And I'm feeling really good. I'm going to start genuinely training for a half marathon in about a week (the dust should be settled by then) and hope that my leg doesn't break in the process.
So... that's where I'm at for now. I'm going to start actually using this thing.. Hopefully.
